You can buy an Epson printer complete with printing attachment for under $100 and I can guarantee you that it will far out last your DVD burner if it was used excusively for burning LightScribe labels. It's so much easier to print a decent label or print directly on the media. Other than making a few bucks by selling media at highly inflated prices, I have no idea how HP engineers managed to convince the company to go forward with this. It takes longer, considerably longer to do the lightscribe than to burn a DVD copy or a complete movie plus the wear on the limited life drive makes me question the sanity of even using this process. It looks fine if you like a laser etched monochrome disk with a limited number of patterns, etc., but the time is silly. I still have half of the original box of 10 lightscribe disks I purchased with my HP dvd 740.
